Notes on pricing
Prices are for the property per week or per night in Euros (sterling prices can be made available at exchange and commission rates at date of payment).
50 euros deposit is required to secure bookings of over 6 nights or 100 euro deposit for bookings of 2 weeks or more. Balance to be paid in cash euros on arrival at the gite.


This deposit is non-returnable.


Deposit payment must be cleared through our bank within 2 weeks of booking or owners reserve the right to offer the gîte to other interest parties.

Gîte Facilities

Bedroom
The Gîte has one bedroom, which is very large. It has a 7ft double bed, Wardrobe, Chest of draws and plenty of room for a travel cot. The room has exposed oak beams and a seating area with views over our meadow and the ancient oak trees. A large double futon is available in the lounge area downstairs. So the Gîte has a sleeping capacity of 4.

Bathroom and WC
The bathroom is situated downstairs. It has a shower compartment and a wash hand basin housed in a mirrored vanity unit. The separate WC is also situated on the ground floor.

Kitchen
The fully equipped kitchen contains a 4-ring hob and oven , which is bottled gas. It also has a large fridge, kettle, toaster, sink, work surfaces and storage cupboards. We provide all the crockery, cutlery, saucepans, ovenware, tee towels and oven gloves.

Utility room
A washing machine, iron and ironing board are available, by prior arrangement with the owners. Customers can freeze food or re-freeze ice packs by arrangement also.

Living room
The lounge area has a double futon settee, a dining area with a large table and 6 chairs. There is also a wood-burning stove for winter use, wood can be purchased at a nominal fee. There is a portable CD player/radio, cards, board games and puzzles.

Cleaning, Towels, Linen
We will provide all the towels, tee towels, table linen, bed linen and bags for the bins. All the linen will be changed weekly for lets of more than 7 nights. The gîte is cleaned before each new letting.

Notes on Accommodation
For winter use there are electric heaters in the bedroom and bathroom and a wood-burning stove in the lounge/dining area. Children are welcome and there is a large garden area for them to run around in. We do have cats and during the summer, when the doors are open, it is impossible to ensure they do not go in the gîte. This could be a problem if you dislike cats or are allergic to them. We also have a friendly Welsh Border Collie, fencing is put up to stop the dog from intruding on residents privacy.

Accessibility
The gîte is accessible by wheelchair but only to the ground floor where the shower room and WC are located. The double futon is also on the ground floor in the sitting room area.

Outside
There is a garden area for use of all guests to the front and side of the gîte. We have also provided a table, chairs, sun umbrella and table linen for alfresco dining. There is also a chiminee barbecue. Guests will find ample off road space for parking to the front of the gîte. If you would like to hire a bicycle we can provide this for a nominal fee. We provide tourist information leaflets for the local area, which include both outside and inside activities. In the summer months there are many outdoor music festivals, cycle racing, motorbike and racing car meets and the summer horse racecourse at Le Dorat, which is a truly family event.

Our Location

We are situated in the North West of the Limousin on the border between the Haute Vienne (Limousin) and the Vienne (Poitou-Charentes). We have easy access to all the Limousin Departments of Haute Vienne, Creuse and Corrèze and also the Vienne which is part of the Poitou-Charentes Region.

If you love nature then you will love the Limousin and Poitou-Charentes. It is known as Frances Lake District, it is a beautiful and un-spoilt part of France, with its ever-changing scenic landscape.

You will find grazing sheep and Limousin cattle as well as market gardens and orchards full of cherries, apples and many other fruits. The rivers and lakes teem with fish and are home to a huge variety of flora and fauna.

Walking and cycling routes surrounding us and we have appropriate maps, which we are happy to loan to interested parties. Maps can also be acquired from the tourist offices.

Benefits of a rural gîte

The benefits are vast, but to simplify the Gîte has got its own garden so that you can sit out in the evening and appreciate the wonder of rural living. The sunsets are stunning and the skies at night are clear and full of stars. There is no light pollution to spoil this magical spectacle of the night sky. You can wander the lanes and tracks that surround the Gîte and obtain the full benefit this beautiful part of France.

Gîte Information

Fanfreda Gîte is beautifully renovated rural cottage set in a peaceful anf tranquil location. It is ideally placed for walking, cycling and all other leisure activities. If what you are looking for is a relaxing holiday away from the hustle, bustle and pollution of modern day life, then Fanfreda is for you.

A mobile shop comes regularly to the hamlet and there is an excellent bar/restaurant at our commune village of Verneuil Moustiers, which is 3km from Moustiers. The nearest general store, boulangerie, pharmacy and tabac are at Lussac les Eglises, 7km.

We run the smallholding in an environmentally friendly fashion, reusing and recycling and aiming for self-sufficiency. Guests are asked to separate their waste into rubbish, recycling and compost, using the bins provided. In the winter, when heating is required, the wood burner is preferred to the electric heaters. Wood for the burner can be purchase from us at a reasonable price.
